Kawartha Lakes Region (KLR).
The Kawartha Lakes Region is one of the fastest growing regions in the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada. We have grown from 50 to 60 members to over a 100 since our beginnings in 2001.
We are an extremely active group and have at least one event month and much more during the driving season. We meet the first Saturday of the Month for Breakfast (currently at the Lindsay Airport). We have regular monthly club meeting from October to March with very interesting Guest Speakers. Things really take off beginning in April with our Auction, This is billed as a club fundraiser but between the food, the Auctioneers, and the great interaction between our members its way more than just an auction. Next up is Lindsay Flea Market another great event to meet with our members at our booth or just to pick up that missing car part etc. By now the touring season is in high gear and we are out touring almost every other weekend. Before you know it is August and its time for our annual BBQ hosted by one of our members. We share a great BBQ burgers and fresh corn and lots of great deserts supplied by our members. Again there is always that great interaction between our members and it usually ends with most of us sitting around a great Bonfire. In September many members attend the Tour To Yesteryear the ACCCC’s flagship event which is a one week tour hosted by one of the 12 regions that make up the club. We enjoy a few late fall tours to get a glimpse of Mother Nature at work as the winter season begins to descend upon us.
We have one last fall tour to Stanhope Airport to join in the Car Show there and then it’s time for the beauties to make their exit for the winter. The year is capped off with our Christmas Luncheon, another well attend event.
So if you enjoy classic cars, enjoy getting out in them, enjoy great food and meeting great friends the Kawartha Lakes Region might just be for you.
